Dentallium

Materis: Dentallium shells, swarvoski crystals, tanned caribou hide. Dentallium shells were once considered an extreamly high valued item primarily by the west coast natives, extending to the north as a form of currency. Traditionally Dentallium also measured ones status and significant wealth, although today they are most commonly crafted beautifully in pacific and Inuit clothing adornment, typically for ceremonial purposes. I can only imagine how wonderful the sound of hundreds of dentallium shells strung onto clothing, bouncing around during ceremonial dancing must be! One day. If you ever get a chance, check out the stunning images of traditional dentalium dresses on google search! They are icrediblely geogeous!!

“Okay Caroline, these for now, those for later.” For this project I was given at least 5 spare band aids for my tragic fingers. The upside of this current project is that i've been building some slight arm muscle! I like to call it my man hobby, much like I’m one of the boys except with chicken arms, and a desirous tendency to girly dance after every finished project. Just for the record, i'm way cooler than i sound, i swear!
